Melbourne in October is a great place to visit! The weather is great and the gardens are spectacular. Some of the best features of Melbourne include:
- Queen Victoria Markets, spread over 7 hectares with over 1,000 traders, are open Tuesday to Sunday.
- A large choice of restaurants in the area, catering for all tastes.
- Crown Casino in Melbourne CBD.
- Free City Circle trams which travel around the CBD.
- World-class sporting facilities such as Melbourne Cricket Ground, the home of AFL football, and Rod Laver Arena, the venue for the Australian Open.
- The Victorian Arts Centre and National Gallery.
Retail therapy available at nearby Northland Shopping Centre and at various factory outlet complexes. We have an exciting weekend planned for you. Arrive at your leisure on Friday to check into the hotel, register for the convention, catch up with familiar faces, or meet other AMBA members for the first time. The convention opens with a relaxed dinner where you will meet our Patron and see who will receive the coveted AMBA Appreciation Awards this year.
Saturday is dedicated to the business side of AMBA and your chance to see how you and your club fits into the association as a whole. You will have an opportunity to contribute to the meetings if you wish. A highlight of all conventions is the dinner on Saturday evening and this year will be no exception! With a “Black & White” theme, dress to impress the judges. Be simple, be elegant, be creative, be frivolous – the choice is yours.
On Sunday you will be treated to a range of diverse speakers covering topics that are relevant and current. On both Saturday and Sunday you will be able to view trade displays and perhaps make some purchases to take home. The convention officially concludes on Sunday afternoon.
If you are staying on in Melbourne, you might like to join one of the tours being offered on Monday. Looking forward to meeting you in Melbourne in October. If you have any further queries please contact us at
